What Is an Inter-hospital Transfer?

An inter-hospital transfer means moving a patient from one medical facility to another — from a general hospital to a specialist clinic, from a private clinic to a rehabilitation centre, or from a hospital in another city back home to Brașov. the patient was admitted as an emergency to the nearest hospital but needs specialist investigations or treatment at another facility;
they underwent surgery in Bucharest, Cluj, or Iași and wish to continue recovery closer to home;
the attending physician recommends transfer to a specialist department, a neurorehabilitation centre, or a private hospital.

Important: If the patient is in a critical condition or requires continuous intensive monitoring, the transfer must be coordinated through the public emergency system — call 112 (free). How Does a Transfer with NucleusMED Work?

1. Contact Us and Describe the Situation

Call +40 758 409 100 or visit our contact page. Have the following information ready: the patient's general condition, the departure facility, the destination facility, any medical equipment required (oxygen, active IV line, vital-signs monitor), and the preferred date or time window.

2. We Confirm Availability and Provide a Quote

3. Coordinating Medical Documents

We recommend obtaining a transfer letter or partial discharge summary from the attending physician at the departing facility in advance — this will be presented to the receiving hospital. NucleusMED can advise you on how to request it, but does not issue medical documents.

4. The Transfer Itself

Our crew arrives at the agreed time, safely secures the patient on a stretcher or in a wheelchair, carries out the transfer in comfort and safety, and hands the patient over to medical staff at the destination. Our Mercedes-Benz ambulances are equipped to current standards and are authorised by ANMDMR.

What to Prepare Before the Transfer?

Medical documents: discharge summary or transfer letter, recent investigation records, CT/MRI images on CD, laboratory results;
Current medication: a complete medication list and any medicines needed during transport;
