Patient transport for dialysis: what you need to know

Patients with chronic kidney failure usually need three dialysis sessions per week. For many of them, transport becomes a weekly challenge — especially if they have reduced mobility, live on an upper floor, or have no family members available. NucleusMED provides private medical transport for dialysis patients in Brașov, Hărman and throughout Brașov county.

Please note: NucleusMED services are planned, private, paid medical transport. Medical emergencies must be handled exclusively by calling 112 (free public service).

Scheduled, recurring transport

We can set up a recurring schedule for dialysis sessions so the patient arrives on time, stress-free, for every trip. Our crew understands the needs of dialysis patients and accompanies them bedside to bedside — from home to the dialysis center and back.

You do not need to call before every trip: once the weekly schedule is set, pickup happens according to the agreed timetable.

Why punctuality matters

Dialysis sessions have fixed times, set by the medical center. Delays can disrupt the entire center's schedule and affect the quality of the patient's treatment. That is why we emphasize:

  • Punctuality — we leave on time to meet appointment hours
  • Optimized routes — we know the routes to dialysis centers in Brașov and across the county
  • Proactive communication — we let you know if exceptional situations arise

Comfort and safety

NucleusMED crews are prepared for the specific needs of dialysis patients:

  • Rolling stretcher or stair-climbing chair, as needed
  • Nurse on request, for patients who require supervision during the trip
  • Ambulances sanitized after every trip, fully equipped
  • Mercedes-Benz vehicles authorized by DSP Brașov, with ANMDMR approval

Patients who move with difficulty or live on an upper floor without an elevator can be picked up directly from their apartment by the crew — please mention this when booking.

Assisted or non-assisted transport — which to choose?

Non-assisted transport is suitable for stable patients who do not need medical monitoring during the trip. It is the standard option for recurring dialysis trips.

Assisted transport — with a nurse on board — is recommended for patients with a variable clinical condition, oxygen-dependent patients, or on the nephrologist's recommendation.

Talk to your treating doctor or the dialysis center to decide the right type of transport. Full details on the Services page.
